Who we are

Perdy Maternity Care provides private antenatal and postnatal maternity support services.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Perdy Maternity Care is the data controller responsible for your personal information.

Perdy Foster is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and processes personal information in accordance with UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What information we collect

When you contact us or book services, we may collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Due date
  • Whether this is your first baby
  • Information about the support you are seeking
  • Notes from consultations, classes, antenatal visits and postnatal visits
  • Any information you choose to provide relating to your pregnancy, birth or postnatal experience

Why we collect your information

We collect your information in order to:

  • Respond to enquiries
  • Arrange appointments and classes
  • Deliver antenatal and postnatal support services
  • Maintain records of care and support provided
  • Communicate with you about your appointments and services
  • Meet legal, regulatory and insurance requirements

Lawful basis for processing

We process your personal information because it is necessary to provide the services you request.

Where information relating to health, pregnancy, birth or postnatal wellbeing is collected, it is processed as special category data in accordance with UK data protection law.

How your information is stored

Your information is stored electronically using secure systems with password protection and appropriate security measures.

Access is restricted to authorised individuals who require the information to provide services.

Who has access to your information

Access to client information is limited to Perdy Foster and trusted service providers used to operate the business, such as secure email, scheduling and payment systems.

We use third-party providers to assist with appointment and scheduling, email communication and payment processing. These providers only process information necessary to deliver their services and are required to protect your information appropriately.

Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK data protection law.

We do not sell or share your personal information for marketing purposes.

We may disclose information where required by law or where necessary to protect the safety of you or others.

How long we keep information

We retain records for 7 years following the last occasion in which support was given, in order to provide services, comply with legal obligations, meet insurance requirements and manage potential complaints or claims.

After the retention period expires, records will be securely deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information in certain circumstances
  • Restrict or object to certain processing activities
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
